Seeking Surgeon

I am seeking a surgeon for Lap Band who will accept Medicare as primary Insurance. Also, he/she must operate in Hosp of Excellence. I'm trying to stay close to home-GA, Ala, Fl, such. Please help. Jo Campbell

Dr Maynard is a wonderful doctor and has a great staff. When I had my surgery he did not have the Center of Excellence approval yet so I went to Dr. Smith. I dont know if Dr. Smith does lap band. Dr Smith is a great doctor also. I am fairly sure Dr. Maynard does lapband. I used Dr. Macik in atlanta ga. He has been wonderful if you would like his number let me know.. I dont know if he takes medicare but u can call and ask. Deneice ga

Hi, I also reccomend Peachtree Bariatrics..Most of the mds that say they take it, also want to charge you on an average of 2000 3000 also for the surgery..That is illegal, as medicare has stated to me that when a doctor makes an agreement with them it is for a certain price and they are not supposed to charge any copays or other fees..Also there is no precertification with medicare, as long as you meet their criteri.So no long waiting period like most insurances..... There are many here in Marietta that say they take it and then when you get all excited they back off and tell you the "other costs".Peachtree Bariatrics , when I asked them, stated immediately that they do not charge any more than what medicare pays, because it is illegal..So I recomend them...
