hi from Atlanta

I just started posting and am in Atlanta. I am 27 years old and very interested in WLS. I have an 8-month old daughter, and fear my weight will affect my role as a mom. I have already had surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and currently have joint issues in my knees and legs specifically, in addition to awful acid reflux. I am currently on Medicaid, but not sure how long I will be covered, since apparently single moms cannot make more than $350/month and have Medicaid. I am not in a good place financially and that is all that would stand in my way. Any advice or feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Stacy, I think I may have spoken to you earlier in the mail forum. There is only one doctor here in atl that takes medicaid. It is Dr Duncan @ Peachtree Bariatrics. Actually it is his associate Dr Hobson that takes the medicaid. He did my surgery just 5 weeks ago. If I were you I would hurry to get this done on Medicaid. The speed of your surgery will depend on you getting all the info gathered from other doctors as are required. Where abouts in Atl are you? I am in Henry county but I attend three different support groups and may be able to direct you somewhere. Hope to hear more from you soon. Pat
