Hope to have surgery in Savannah

Hello, my name is Valerie. I am looking into the WLS program at Memorial Hospital in Savannah. Anyone familiar with it or the Drs Anstadt and Whipple. Thanks, Val

i was going to use dr anstadt because my cousin did use him she has got alone great. but my insurance would not approve it with him so I am having mine done in Atlanta w/dr macik this coming wed. April 25th good luck. Deneice GA.

Hi Val, My surgery was with Dr Angstadt in July 05. Great program and staff at the bariatric center and I'm sure you will be pleased. There are formal - meet at the center - support groups and informal - meet in homes and coffee shop - group of great people who are serious about this journey. Dr Angstadt has a practice besides being at the bariatric center and has a long history of lap surgery before going through the ASBS certification. I found him to be extremely professional, personable and talented. You won't have much interaction with him though, it's the people at the bariatric center you will see more. I saw Jody more than anyone and she is awesome - you couldn't ask for anyone more caring or knowledgable about the subject.

What type of surgery did you have? DId they provide good nutritional support? How long were you in the hospital? Thank you for responding. Val

Thank you, I received it. I am considering the lap band. It was nice to get the info about the Dr. I have to wait until May before I can contact a surgeon. I have to have all my insurance in place first. Val
