This is am e-mail that Dr. Hobson office sent to me Ihope it helps. Dr. Hobson accepts Medicare. Dr. Duncan does not at this time. Because our surgeons perform Laparoscopic surgery only you BMI needs to be 64 or less. Age is not a factor; if you are not a high risk for surgery you should be fine. Hey Patricia, You are right that Dr Duncan's (hobson) office does take Medicare and they are a center of excellence (medicare requirement). So , how is the process going for you? You still going to the seminar on the 14th?

HI Pat, How are you doing? I hope you are doing good .I am still going Saturday. I called and ask a few Questions today.Does the Place where they hold the seminars have any steps or a lot of walking. I was wondering I can't walk very far at one time without resting. I have a rollator that I can bring if I need it.The meeting is supposed to be at the wellness center. DR Duncan is supposed to be there. I was talking to Dr. Hobson about my surgery. Are you going to go? Have you been feeling better. I read alot about the post op,and sometimese they are in some pain. I hope you are having a good recovery. Take Care Bluebutterfly

I am doing fine. Hardlly any pain. Only used pain meds for three days after coming home and probably didn't need it then, just took it to be sure. Actually felt much better without the pain meds. I went for my post op appt yesterday. Lost 13 pounds but dr says I am retaining water. I have pitting edema in my legs. As to the wellness center. If you get there early enough to get a good parkiing space you won't have much walking at all. They have a direct parking lot and another parking lot across the street. If I were you I would take the roler to use depending on your parking space. There are no stairs. I don't remember if it is upstairs or not but they have an elevator. I think it was on the main floor, but not sure. I am still a bit unsure if I am coming or not. My granddaughter may have something for me to do that day but I am leaning towards coming to the seminar with you and maybe one other girl. You will really like Dr Hobson. He did my surgery and he was very attentive in his office both before and after surgery. I wouldn't mention you being "high risk". I would let them know your comorbids and let them deside. They deal with all of us obese people and really know what they are doing and it may help to start thinking of yourself as a "normal obese woman". This was the one and only time I ever felt normal and without the judgement of others.

Hi Sheryle, I wanted to let you know that there is a seminar (most doctors want you to attend one) for Dr Duncan's office this coming up Saturday the 14th at 1 pm. There website is www.peachtreebariatrics.com. Just ask if you have any further questions and let me know if you will be at the seminar. I will probably be there to support a few new people that will be there also and would love to meet you too. Take Care Pat

Sheryle, One thing I neglected to tell you was that if you do use Dr Duncan's office they require that you do attend one of their seminars and the next one is THIS Saturday. The seminars are usually once every month or two so you probably don't want to wait for the next one. Hope to see you there. If you let me know if you will be there I will try to find you to say hi. I will be going to support a few other newbies that will be there also. Good Luck Pat
