Hello, This is my first post. I've been reading about you good folks and decided to join in. Does anybody have Dr Finley from Atlanta? I'm pre-op and still jumping through the hoops til I get all my tests completed. I live in Warner Robins and am trying to find someone who has had Lap Band surgery. Thanks.

Hi Phyllis, Glad to hear you're happy w/your choice. How're you doing? How many times did you have to get your band adjusted? How's the weight loss? Sorry to bombard you w/so many questions!!Thanks

I'm doing great. I have lost 52 lbs. So far I've had 4 fills, I'm up to 6cc in my 10cc VG band. I will go back at the end of April for #5. The doc will normally choose the size band once he gets in there and take a look around. The fills do not hurt, I get a tiny shot of lidoane to completely numb the area. The needle is pretty big but I dont feel a thing. I have been stuck 2-3 times because for some reason the entrance to my port is sometimes elusive. Some Drs do the fill at the hospital under fluro but most do it in the office. Thats something you will want to ask about. You can have your and adjusted FOREVER, so two years down the road if I want to loose more, or feel I'm not having proper restriction I can always get a fill. OR...If I were to become pregnant (heaven forbid!) my band can be completely unfiled..even can be removed although I can't imagine every wanting that. I stayed out of work for 3 weeks just cause I could, some go back within a matter of days. Phyllis

Laura, Just how exactly do they "do a fill"? How long does it take? Can you do it in the Dr's office? Why would you have it done? Did you get your stomach tighter or looser? Can you see the port? Does it hurt? Have you heard of Dr. Finley? Thanks.
