Soooo what is a good protein shake??
Hi Laura,
When I first started the process my NUT had us try about 20 different ones, I couldnt find one that I liked. Some people really like Unjury. I am almost 2 years out and cant stand the taste of any of them(and I have tried too many to count) thankfully I can tolerate milk so I try to get a good bit of that in a day (I have a least 3 16oz glasses a day) if you find that you cannot have milk, Lactade(spelled wrong) makes a pretty good milk sub(and there is even one that has extra protein) Publix also has a store brand protein milk sub that is pretty good(look in the dairy) If you find that you get bored with the same ole' flavor I will add a few frozen berries or other fruit.
Good Luck
Erica
Hi there,
I am 11 months post-op and just in the past month can tolerate protein drinks now.
You HAVE got to try the New Whey Gourmet...lots of flavors but I love the Arctic Cappuccino Frappe and the Smooth Peanut Butter Chocolate the best. I order from bariatriceating website. I also love the vanilla mice milk and add 1/2 cup of that with 1/2 cup of coffee a splurge of sf starbucks cinnamon dolce syrup and add a dab of light reddi whip on top with some extra sprinkles of cinnamon, and I like the Matrix cookies and cream and the extreme smoothie praline scream!!!
Love them!

I have tried several and can tolerate all of them, but think I will try the New Whey someone mentioned. Right now I am drinking Walker Diet. The reason I like it is because it has vitamins in it. Also, I have learned to mix it with ho****er for a hot drink.
Good luck on your protein search. Just remember they do not have to be wonderful. Just consider them medicine. I have reached my goal weight and I think it is largely because I have drank the protein drinks and WALKED.
