Support group meetings at Cobb hospital...

Hi there, I just found out that Wellstar Cobb Hospital does a monthly support group meeting for weight loss surgery people. I am very excited about thi sas I moved here to Douglasville last summer and just now am finding information about surgeons to follow me and support groups, etc. I am just curious if anyone attends there...I would like to meet some friends that understand what I am going through and have gone through this past year Amy

WLS support group meetings at Cobb Hospital are the second Saturday of each month...in the Auditorium One at 9:00 a.m. (must pay to park) Hope to see you there Amy

Hi Amy. I attend the support group meetings at Wellstar Cobb Hospital on Austell and East-West Connector. It's the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9am till about 11:30. Dr Odom sponsors this meeting and it's open to pre-ops and post-ops of any surgeon. I also attend the Wellstar meetings across the street from Wellstar Windy Hill Hospital the third Thursday of the month because it's sponsored by my surgeon Dr Dennis Smith. The Saturday meeting is small and intimate. It's got a good mix of pre-ops and post-ops. I'll look for you at the next meeting! Sue

Great...I will surely try to make it to the next Cobb meeting. Where exactly is the Windy Hill Hospital located? I live in Douglasville and hate highway driving. I usually do take I-20 to Thorton road and take the back roads to Cobb hospital. Well I have only been there once...in Jan. when my 9 yr old had her tonsils removed! My 2 year old will also be having surgery there right after Easter. I will look forward to meeting you and all the WLS patients, and pre-ops too Amy

Hey Amy! You asked the exact question I had!!! I just moved to Atlanta from NJ. I'm living in Vinings and am in definite need of a support group I'm not familiar w/ the area.
