Has any of you had Endometrial Ablation? I had it about three months ago, and I guess it did not work, because I still have periods. Anyone else??

yes I'm facing it right now as a possibility. What did they recommend it for? Did it stop them even temporarily? I am severely anemic and they cannot stop my bleeding and cant figure out why just yet either

I have had 3 regular periods since the 3 months that I had the procedure done. They are still pretty bad. I am thinking it did not work on me. I wish I would of just had a hysterectomy. but, I was scared of that because of all the complications I had with my WL surgery. What about a hysterectomy for you??

Nothing worked for me either until I switched gyns and this one did a vaginal ultrasound and said I needed a hysterectomy asap. This was back in 1999, and I wish I had been able to have one sooner and not had to suffer the 18 years prior while the moronic doctor I was seeing made excuses as to why I DIDN'T need a hysterectomy. His main one was that I was having problems because of my obesity and if I "just lost weight" I would be fine. The ultrasound showed an entirely different situation and I thank God daily that I finally found a doctor with a brain. I had less problems with the hysterectomy surgery than I did with my wls. I wish you the best. Hugs, Janie p.s. I don't miss "THE CURSE" at all, do not take any hormones, since they didn't take my ovaries, and have had no menapausal symptoms at all(so far). In fact I went from being hot all the time to freezing almost year round.

I had an endometrial ablation in April 2000 and have not had a period since then. This was after bleeding since the previous August with only a stop for six days in February when I had a D&C. My cousin had the same procedure and continued to have periods though it did clear up the excessive bleeding. My Dr. said that it worked differently for different people. I think the important thing would be whether it stopped the excessive bleeding or not. If it did not, go back to the dr because it sounds like something else is wrong. Good Luck, Catherine

Yes I was going to say if you have fibroids my doc said you are not a candidate for this procedure. You could possibly have something else going on even polyps or something.
