Lapband for Adolescent (16 yrs old)...

Hi everyone: My daughter had recently seen a Dr. Phil episode about Dr.'s in NY that are doing lapband on teenagers. She started inquiring to me about attending a seminar for it. She was very anxious to find out more about it. I want her to be healthy, happy and increase her self-esteem, but I haven't found a doctor that will do it here in Georgia for teenagers. Does anyone know of a Doctor that does this in Atlanta or a neighboring state? Someone else had said she should see a nutrionist first. Thanks, CE

I don't know of any doctors that do the lapband on teenagers, but I'm sure you could call around and find out. I got my band back in May of 2006, and I love it. I've lost over 70 lbs in that time. If PCP recommends it, I don't see why they wouldn't do it.
