Gas Pains

Alright...I have a question. I have developed incredible gas pains over the past few months. I have been trying to pay attention to what triggers them. And, I have determined that one thing I know for sure is beans. I think certain nuts might do it too. I messed up and ate some refried beans Monday night. I have been in pain ever since. It just gets trapped in there somewhere and WON'T come out!!! I have tried gas-x, taken prilosec (I know...that wouldn't help...just thought I would try), drank a lot of water....it lasts for days when it happens. Any advice? I'll try just about ANYTHING. My stomach feels like a huge tight ball of gas. It hurts all the way into my shoulders sometimes. I'm sure nothing but drinking water, walking around and time will help. I just thought I would see if you guys had any remedies for me. Thank you!

Stephanie, I'm truly sorry that you are in PAIN; I wish that I could help. But you have tried all the things that I would think about. I know that having gas can really hurt and I know that one nice BURP might help. . I just hope that you get to feeling better really soon. Hug's Jeannie

Thank you. It was a bit better, but it is coming back. Maybe time for more gasX. I took 4 this morning!

Heat works best for me. I will either take a hot bath or put the heating pad on my belly. I have tried everything you listed and the heat has worked the best. Give it a try!

try Gas-x s. then lay down roll over in bed. If the gas is in your unused part of your tract this will help. If you are trying diet foods/snacks sugar free look on the back if it says it has PHENYLKETONURICS, PHENYLALANINE ,ASPARTAME excess consumption may have laxative/gas effect on the RNY.

Hi, Stephanie........(neighbor!!!) I have had a week of the same thing. Two things helped. One was laying on my left side, and the other was getting myself unconstipated. I have a lapband and don't know which procedure you have had, so I can only share my trial and error with you. I will tell you that for some unknown reason, I discovered that when I used gas-x, it got better initially and then got a lot worse. I found myself using the gas-x more and more and way overdoing the recommended amount. MOM has proved to be a better solution and doesn't seem to make anything any worse! Ann
