SouthSide WLS Group

Good afternoon, everyone. Thanks Jeannie, for getting the monthly gathering together. I'm sorry I didn't make it. Our son had a play date. I wanted to remind everyone of the SouthSide WLS Support Group Meeting. It will be on the 27th this month from 6:30-7:30 at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge. We meet the 4th Tuesday of every month. This month's topic will be "Positivity!". I want us to talk about the positive impact this surgery has had in our lives. If you haven't had surgery, this is a good opportunity for you to hear how this surgery can change lives. Also, you can share what positive things you are looking forward to. I think focusing on the positive is an important thing to do during this changing time. It is very easy to get bogged down in the negative or get overwhelmed by change. So, think about that topic, and we'll see you next week. Also, I'm thinking about a gathering/picnic in April for the group. Anyone is welcome to join...not just the SouthSide group. I'm thinking about Noah's Ark. It is an animal rescue park in Locust Grove, GA. It is about 15 minutes away from I-75. It is very easy to get to. Those of us in Henry County, probably know where it is. This would be a great time for us to play, eat some great food, take a nice walk, and meet our families. So, let me know what you think. I'm thinking about Saturday, April 14th or the 21st. The only reason this won't work is if the weather is bad. They close the park if it is bad weather. Stephanie, I might be interested in going to Noah's Ark....but it would have to be on April 21st....since Tax Day this is year is April 17th this year.....and I will be up to my neck in doing extensions on April 14th...LOL Norma

GUESS WHAT! Candy and I was talking about having some kind of PICNIC or even going BOWLING at the new BOWLING ALLEY in Stockbridge. I really think that both of these will be wonderful. We can talk about both of these Tuesday night and see what everyone thinks. Hug's Jeannie

Hello, I had surgery om02/20/07 and I'm very interested in joning the support. Iplan to attend.

I had gastric by-pass Feb. 4 2005 and have never been to a support group. I did not know they had them on the Southside. At Henry General where do you meet and what do I have to do to possible join? What time? Help as I am afraid that I am going to start gaining weight. Am wanting to eat more now than before. Is this normal. Thank you, Martha [email protected]

You don't have to do anything to join...just show up. We meet in the Education/Foundation building usually in classroom C. I am looking forward to meeting you. Hope to see you there.

Hello, I just had WLS and would like to attend the meeting this month at HMS. Can you tell me where in the hospital or can I just go to the Information desk and have them point me in the right direction? Thanks

Hello...We meet in the Foundation/Education center in classroom C. If you'll enter the hospital from Eagle's landing Pkwy, you will see the main entrance. As you enter, you will the the Foundation building on your left. Park anywhere, and we'll be upstairs. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
