hoping to have DS soon

I have already been approved by my insurance (BCBS) and am hoping that my surgery will be schedualed soon. Dr. Dennis C. Smith will be my surgeon. I would like to hear from some of Dr. Smith's DS patients. How did you feel immediately post-op? When could you return to work? Do you still feel as elated after surgery as you felt when you were schedualed? Waiting for your answers, BECKY

Hi Becky, I'm having DS done as well...although I'm using Dr. Maynard rather than Dr. Smith...but even my surgeon speaks very highly of him. When are you trying to have your surgery? I have a couple more steps to complete then I'm ready to move forward. You might want to post your questions to the DS board as well, I know there are a few people familar with Dr. Smith there as well.

Kerry, I hope I am having my surgery on Feb. 21, if there are no glitches. Why did you pick DS? Do you know anyone else that has had it? I ran into a woman one day where I work that had had it done 2 yrs ago by Dr. Smith and she was doing very well, looked very healthy and had lost about 200lbs. But other than that, I don't know anyone. Most people I meet have had RNY. Good luck on finishing up everything you need. BECKY
