Hey Everybody!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and are ready to embark on 2007 with new and exciting goals! I have received various calls and emails asking what was going on with my daughter Kelli, myself, etc...I apologize, but I did not want to send out any information until I had full disclosure and could answer intelligently. Kelli has her first surgery of 2007 on this Friday. She will have two things done this time. They intend to repair the vein that opened back up from the October Surgery and; They will begin working on the calf area as well.We were told that this will be very painful for her- so we will see. I am praying that it goes as smoothly as the last one- One thing is a fact, Ms. Kelli is a trooper- so she will do well. My husband Craig(for those of you who know us and met him) has been approved by insurance for laproscopic Gastric Bypass surgery- I am proud to say that DESPITE all my setbacks, I have encouraged him to do this. I am also proud to say that he has decided to have the Gastric Bypass. It Really has been almost a two year struggle for him to proceed, but he has committed and is moving on with it. His consultation with Dr. Steinberg is on January 26th. I will be going with him for support. Once this is completed, we will have his surgery date within a week or two. We anticipate the surgery will be some time in March. I am trying to get him to come to some of the support groups again- This time its different because its him, not me that is going to go through this process- Hopefully we will be to a few before he has a date. I told him, I will be jealous because he will come out of this complication free and skinny as hell, while I will still be struggling- men do SO WELL with this surgery (SIGH) I have been kind of out there due to alot of things going on here-I had a cancer scare which required a biopsy in late December. I did not say anything to too many folks because I wanted the results back first. I found out yesterday that it was Benign, so I can breathe a sigh of relief with that issue. As far as my revision- I actually got a call today from Dr. Steinberg- After discussing with Dr. Maguire in Ohio, they both decided it would be best for me to have the revision in Dayton- So, I will be Ohio bound. I spoke with Dr. Maguire's' assistant today (Kim), the last piece of information needed was my original psych exam. Shawna faxed it today and I have confirmed that they have it so its only a matter of insurance submission. As much as I want mine done like YESTERDAY- I think it is extremely important to be supportive of Craig during his process, and also juggle a few other things. There is no way we can both be recovering at the same time with kids, and all of the regular things that go on with life. Therefore, I have opted to wait until the end of May. This way School is out for the kids,Craig will be healed, and all of my School Girl Scout obligations will be met. (YES IT'S GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!!!) I will be touching base with Kim in March and we will get the ball rolling regarding insurance submission- Even though it sounds like a long time off, March is right around the corner! Hope all is well with everyone- and as usual, I will keep you all posted!! Much Denise
