does anyone cigna healthcare ppo?

if you have this ins., what do they require and what was your approval experience?

i have cigna ppo but did not use them for my bypass surgery....HOWEVER...I am trying to get them to approve still my plastics i just had and they are a pain in the butt.....so I highly recommend you read thoroughly your guidelines and follow their every rules that are in writing and not by the people on the phone...they misdirected me on the phone and now I have to go through an appeal process due to them and they even admit it...very frustrating... ok, sorry for venting but wanted to share....good luck.... ann

I have CIGNA PPO. Dr Smith's office submitted my paperwork on the 4th and I was approved on the 11th!!!! The strange thing is that we submitted paperwork for the DS and I was approved for "Gastric Bypass" surgery which usually means the RNY. The doctor's office hasn't gotten back to me with any information except that it appears I was approved and they needed to verify some things. I called IntraCorp, who does the pre-certifications, and was told I was approved for the "Gastric Bypass". I suspect the doctor's office wants to make sure they will cover the DS. Anyway, to answer your question, I did the 6-month doctor-supervised diet with Dr Smith's office because they know what the insurance companies want for the "behavioral modification" documentation. I understand this is the requirement they usually say isn't met so they don't have to pay.
