Moving to Winder Georgia

My family and I are moving to Winder February 1st! I would really like to find a support group in the local area if possible. I had RNY surgery July 20th 2006. My weight at the time of my surgery was 250 lbs and a size 26/28 at present I weigh 172-175 and can wear a size 16/14 (as of new years eve YEAH)! I don't know my way around yet and the only people we know in Georgia are my parents (dad and stepmother), grandparents, and siblings (much younger). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hi Michelle, I am not familiar with a support group closer to you then Atlanta but I did a little research for you. If you use this website to locate a hospital near you that does the surgery...the select one of the doctors at that hospital...then you can see if they list any support groups or go into patient testomonies/reviews and ...shoot... I would just email a few (from their profile) and ask them where they go. You may even come up with a good friend that way. You will find everyone is very helpful. Good Luck. ~~~Pat~~~

I am in Winder, GA. I have not found a support group *smack on the hand* but I had the gastric bypass on 5/2006. I was an 26/28 and weighed 327. I am now at 198 and a size 14. Maybe we can get together and attend some support groups together Hope to hear from you soon
