These Dr's won't do surgery on us after we've had surgery by a different Doc? I realize they can't possibly know the condition the previous doc left us in, but isn't that what ultra sound and endoscope's are for? I'm not a Doc, but it seems to me if someone needs a revision,or wants to have a lap-band on RNY (like I do) because of weight gain, there should be a way for someone other than our original doc, to help us out, without having to travel to foreign lands. Thanks for letting me rant.

Hi Michael, Sounds like you're going through a rough period right now. I've heard of others having a hard time finding a second doc. I don't know if they are afraid of the liability or what. Good luck! Phyllis

No, my weight gain has been minimal. I've read on here where people have moved from the state they had the WLS, and have a hard time finding a follow-up doc. What happens if the doc retires like mine did? We need to let some of the doc's that won't see us if we had previous surgical work by another doc, that we need their support. I understand the liability thing, there are people that sue over nothing. So, we sign a release for the previous doc's work.

HI Michael, Check with Obesity Solutions. I know they have taken on patients who have come into Georgia from other states...so they may extend that same offer if your doc has retired. They are in Gainesville....from what I can see on Mapquest, looks like it's about 1.5 hrs from you....I know that's not close...but perhaps they can help. GOOD LUCK!

When I think about it, it really frustrates me. Most responses have the liability issue in it. I would GLADLY sign a release from the first dr's work. I went and saw a doc in Suwanee, and he told me RNY is a "tool" for weight loss. Well, when one of my tools malfunctions, or breaks, I fix it. I had great results from the first surgery. Recently, I've had a small weight gain. I'm not eating any different than I have after the surgery. I totally retrained myself to eat low-fat,low carb food. For some reason, I'm not getting full as fast, and getting hungry sooner after meals. To me,something is wrong, and needs to be repaired, fixed, revised or whatever they want to call it. Again, thanks for all the replies, y'all are angels for the well wishes and advise!!

Hello again..... Did you ever get the revision? Do you mind if I ask who the surgeon was? Thanks, Mike
