Hope everyone had a Happy Thankgiving. I have an question. I went two weeks to have an stress test done for me to have an revision. I recieve an call from the nurse telling me that I need to have an cather put in an have dye place in my heart before I have my procedure on Wednesday. Is this normal? Have anyone else had this done? The nurse insured me it is to make sure my heart can handle the surgery.

Hi Rose, I don't recall having to have a catheritization for my surgery, but I HAVE had it done. Who knows? Each doctor has their own set of rules they want before the surgery. I'm sure they just want to make sure you are in the best possible health. I wish you all the best!!!!!!!! Tami

I have a cather put in to run dye in my heart to check for a heart defect before the surgery because of a fasle- positive reading on my stress test. I guess I am just nervous closer I get. My insurance is not paying for wls next year.
