Help!!!!

Wanted to know how to get on the patient list for any obesity studies in Georgia. I am a morbidly Obese black man in his forties and can just barely walk very bad arthritis from the weight. I just lost my job as a educator due to budget cuts and no longer have health insurance. I need help with my problem please Im not trying to checkout early Even tho I have four kids It does`not seem that I can get through this problem on my own I need serious help. If you can`t maybe a referral to somebody who can. everything takes money with two in college, and two teenagers still at home I have none Thanks for your consideration. Al

Hi Alton, WELCOME to the GA. Board. I am not so sure of any obesity studies going on at the moment. Perhaps, maybe someone else does. Have you considered maybe trying to get employed short term with another school district just so you can have the gastric bypass? That might be another avenue for you to consider. Just curious...what kind of an educator were you? Seems these days they're always looking for qualified teachers...which district were you in? Anyhoo-state benefit plans don't pay for WLS anymore...

Hi Alton, Just wanted to say that I am sorry about your job lost and I hope that everything goes well for you. I am also Employed through the State of Georgia and have STATE MERIT INSURANCE and OF COURSE, they DO NOT COVER the WLS so I am looking at other Avenues to a Healthier life as well.
