1 Year Anniversary

Aug 31st was my 1 Year Anniversary. I decided to take a few days before posting just to get my feelings and thoughts together. 2 years ago I heard a radio commercial about WLS. Everytime it came on, I turned the radio up to make sure I heard every word they were saying. This went on for about a month. I fianlly decided that this was something that I wanted to check into. I called my husband just to see what he would say. We decided to attend the seminar to get more information. We were impressed with the procedure, but not the surgeons. Over the next year, I did my research and found a surgeon that I felt was more than qualified. My husband came down with orders for Iraq and I decided that I was going to hold off on the surgery till he made it back home safe and sound. But my darling sweet husband knew how bad I wanted to take this step. He kept telling me, "Baby, we have researched this through and through, I do not want you to wait, I want you to go ahead with the schedule." I am glad I listened to him. My surgery went on with no complications. Dr. Hobson and Dr. Duncan both performed the surgery and Dr. Duncan came by my room to reassure my parents and myself that it was perfect textbook. I haven't had any real problems since my wls. I have had a couple stomach issues, but they were because I was being stupid and eating things I KNOW I shouldn't be eating! So far I have lost a total of 110lbs and amlost 93 inches! I went from a size 24 to a size 6. I am able to eat and my biggest problem was getting in fluids. But it was like one day I woke up and now can get my fluids in! I have so much more energy, I do not tire out so quickly. Clothes actually look good on me, even on my bum days! I still have my demons to fight (Satan's minuons ~Kebbler Elves, lol) but other than that, I am doing really well. I am so thankful that I had the surgery and if I had to go back and do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat!!!! Ok, thats enough, lol Hope all of you have a wonderful Labor Day! Hugs! Kimberly
