Hi there! Plastic surgery question....
Hey everyone, long time no see. I have missed you guys! I'm in school now, 3 time a week, so I'm doing homework constantly!
I am wondering if I need to start the plastic surgery process. I am at 233 now (lose of 260 since 7/04). I am having a really hard time loosing at this point, but I'm okay with the weight I'm at. I was almost 500 pounds when I had surgery, so 233 is a miracle.
I would like to see a surgeon, just to get their opinion on how far down I need to be before getting reconstructive surgery. I don't know if I have to get a referral from my PCP to see someone, or if I just have to pay out of pocket.
I have BCBS POS insurance. Anyone know what they pay for? I know I might need to change carriers and will do that if I need to at the end of the year.
Any advice is welcome, I don't know where to start!
Thanks ya'll!
Kelle
Hi, Kelle,
I am looking into plastic surgery, too, and every office I have called says that they do not file insurance. I posed a question on here a while back asking for any advice or information from folks who HAVE had it paid for, but I got no responses. I have Medicare (primary) and United Health Care (secondary). I know some folks have gotten help from insurance, and I also know I would be a good candidate with my history of carbuncles, skin infections, etc., but I am having no luck so far. Maybe you'll get some answers that will help me, too!
Good luck.
Sandy
