My WOW moment!

Just got back from a 10 day vacation in Florida and after staying some friends they were shocked at how much weight i had lost. They kept calling me the incredible shrinking man, which it was nice to hear but i still have a long way to go! If someone would have told me that i would be 121 lbs lighter in just 5 months since suregry, i would never have believed them! If i factor in the 59 lbs i lost during my insurance approval process thats 180 lbs since last July! WOW!!! I have had to buy new work pants about every 6 weeks now which is totally foreign to my thinking as i am used to "super-sizing" and not downsizing!!! I guess i will have a lot of good clothes to donate!!! It's so much nicer to be able to go into a Casual Male B&T and be able to buy clothes off the rack again instead of having to mail order them!!! It is fun to see friends again that i haven't seen since surgery as it makes you that much more motivated when they rave about how good you look! Thanks! Scott 579pre/520 day of/399 today

OK, Scott - it's time to start making friends with the camera! Time to share with us your wonderful journey! Seriously, it is one of the tools that will help you adjust to feeling at home in your body as you continue to lose weight. Mirrors and cameras, the equipment we've traditionally avoided, are important in giving up objective support about the importance and satisfaction of what we are doing for ourselves. The longer we avoid LOOKING, the more likely we are to SABOTAGE ourselves as we continue to lose weight because we haven't gotten familiar with the normal body we think we want to live in for the rest of our lives. To the extent that our goal weight remains a fundamentally unimaginable fantasy is the likelihood that we'll sabotage our success after WLS. Hope you can make it to our GA 400 WLS Meetup today at 7pm at McAlister's Deli off Holcomb Bridge in Roswell! All the best, Lauralyn PS How tall are you?
