problems!!!!
Hey there, it has been a long time since I posted because things have been a struggle for me. I have not lost weight in a year. I was having side pain that it took them from July of last year till March of this year to figure out I had a bad appendix that developed a mass of bacteria. I research the board and it seems that appendix removal seems to be fairly common after gastric bypass for some reason. Anyway, since appendix surgery I have struggled with diarrhea or (not to be gross) mucus discharge. To make things worse, when I exercise it seems to aggrevate the condition. Monday I am having a colonoscopy. Now, I have started to have terrible leg cramps and I thought it might be a potassium deficiency or dehydration but I have been eating bannanas, taking potassium supplments and drinking a ton of water. The cramping seems to be mostly in my right leg which makes me start to worry that I might have something more serious like a blood clot or something.
Anyway, here is my questions - anyone else 15 months out have bowel problems?, any ideas/suggestions about the leg cramps? This is all extremely depressing and any advice you can offer would be great!
Hi Kimberly,
I am 2 yrs out and still have diarreah issues. I also struggle with leg, actually more FOOT cramps. I do tend to get cramps in one foot much more than the other, but I am pretty much able to manage it with increased potassium.
My surgeon offered a medication for me to for the diarreah, but honestly, I have not gotten it filled yet.
I do suggest you talk to the doc about your leg. You know your body better than anyone, and if you have a concern, it's definitely worth checking out.
I wish you the best and hope you feel better VERY soon!

Kimberly, try the wls grads messageboard since you are over a year out. I just got out of the hospital after what I thought was just stomach pain. But in fact I had a VERY serious internal hernia which could have been fatal if I didn't catch it. Please follow up with your doctor on any pain. I am a very strong willed, stubborn woman and thought it would go away. The grads board has alot of people with different issues and they may have experience w/ your type of problem. I hope you feel better soon. May God bless you.
