Hi All Sorry ididn't post yesterday when I came home from the doctor's but believe me that yesterday was NOT a good day. I got to the hospital at 8:30, as instructed. Because I was a last minute addition to the schedule, I was told that my actual procedure wasn't scheduled until 3:00 p.m. So they drew blood and I watched television until around noon. I didn't complain, because I spent all night at the pet hospital, since it appears my baby has a UTI (3 year old Malamute). Anyway, at noon they wheeled me down and I waited a little longer, but by 12:45 the anesthesiologist, had given me "something like Valium just to take the edge off". Well, that's the last thing I remember, until I woke up with this serious pain in my pouch. They kept asking me how I was feeling and everytime I said it hurt they gave me Morphine. For those of you who aren't familiar with my surgery story, Valarie and Morphine DO NOT get along well, AT ALL. It makes me nauseous and shaky. Anyway, they kept trying to discharge me, even though I hadn't spoken with a doctor or received any discharge instructions. Finally, around 4:30, Dr. Duncan called the room and explained that a long suture had worked it's way inside my pouch. He apparently tried to pull it out, but that didn't work (hence the pain in my pouch) so he cut off part of it and prescribed some sort of ulcer medication to help push the remaining part of the suture out of my pouch. I have to get another EGD in three months to see if this worked. Well, I woke up this morning dry heaving, which made my pouch hurt that much more. Turns out the ulcer medication, makes me dry heave every time I take it. The pain kept getting worse. Finally at 8 tonight they prescribed me Loratab, so I am hanging in there, for now. Was finally able to get a little bit of fluid in , sicne I was bringing everything back up earlier. Hopefully this bad feeling will pass soon. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks so much for listening! Val
