wow..it's finally almost here !! I'm getting nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockin chairs !! Really don't know why..I totally trust Dr Champion and all.. I think part of it is....am I going to be miserable because I miss the things I used to be able to eat...simple things like salad..grilled chicken..Mexican food...I know the day will come when I'll be able to eat a little bit of them again,I think I'm afraid I'm going to be hungry and miserable..on the flip side of that..I'm NOT hungry and still miserable lol Gee..I'm just nervous !! I know this is going to be a complete lifestyle change and I have to pray for strength. I have a lady I work with that had the same surgery ( lap roux en y ) and she keeps encouraging me ,telling me I will never regret doing this and I kbow I won't..it's just getting theu the first part I guess. Oh well..ya'll keep me in your prayers.." lift off " is 9:30 Tues the 11th hope I don't drive my husband until then lol

Katherine, I had my surgery on 6/21/06 by Dr. Champion and he is a WONDERFUL surgeon. The nurses were WONDERFUL and very caring too. Yes, there is an adjustment period to your new way of eating. Food was my best friend for many years and there are times I miss it, but I do not want to go back to who I was. When you are at the hospital get the other patients names and numbers and keep in touch with them. There will be times when you need to talk to someone who has been through the same thing that you have. Being nervous is NORMAL. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Keep in touch. Brenda P.
