Heart rate of an athelete!!
had my annual physical this morning and my Dr. after viewing the EKG was so astounded and proud of me, she said I have the heart rate of an athelete and wanted to know just what exercises I am doing and how often etc.
I am 9 mos. post op and down 136 pounds!! Now wearing size 14's down from 30-32.
Other news, my youngest son got married this weekend and we are finnaly empty nesters! This wedding was a huge affair and I am somewhat exhausted but so glad it is over and was very beautiful. I have been running non stop since the day after tax season ended getting all my part of the wedding plans complete and have not been on the forum much but I am back.
I can tell you that without the surgery I would have never been able to hold up to the demands of this wedding and all of the work involved. I have been running and cooking and entertaining and decorating and going non stop in this heat since Wed. and although very tired I did it all without breaking a sweat!! That would not have been possible before!!
Thanks for letting me share.

Hey Tammy, fellow wedding survivor!
I really do not exercise as much as some of the others but I guess it is working for me. I walk on my treadmill 25 mins a day at 3.0 miles per hour, then I exercise on my bowflex for 10 mins a day and have recently added swimming three days a week to the routine. I decided early on to make the exercise routine simple and short so I knew I could stick to it each day and it has been working for me so far. I could do more but do not want to get to the point where I dread doing it and therefore do not keep it up.
Thanls.

Did I mention that I am 50 will be 51 in Oct. so I am no spring chicken! Making this an even more remarkable issue.
It has always amazed me how even a little bit of regular exercise can be such a health benefit!
And I do not know how I am able to wear 14's and now about ready for 12's and I weigh in at 193 pounds!! I must have very heavy bones!

You don't have heavy bones
- muscle weighs more than fat! (Well - it's more dense!)
Way to go Judy.....you're doing fantastic. I swear the Hospital was monitoring me when I had my TT because they were worried my heart rate was too low........
Then they found out how much I do exercise and stopped worrying. (My resting heart rate is 42 - 46 bpm and the average is between 52 - 56. It's always lower when the heart doesn't have to work as hard; and since "atheletes" exercise more their heart rates are way less.)
You're doing a super great exercise routine!!! Keep up the good work. Your body's agew I would wager is much less than your actual age! It's amazing the effects of exercise!

I always get so inspired reading these posts. Sheesh...I keep putting off the gym or aerobics...have opted to walk...randomly...*eyeroll*. I'll do so good for 6-8 weeks then stop...then go back and ....stop. You're doing so great! I thought my resting rate of 75 was good...lol Well a g/f of mine was 115...Dang! she's gotta start moving I told her!
My B/P was 106-64 yesterday at Doc's checkup. We've decided to lower my b/p meds to half tablet. She was thrilled as well. I felt like that was a bit low and I had been running a bit low it seemed.
Congrations on your achievements...Btw...I'm 218 and wearing 16s in about half my clothes. I know that dressmakers have enlarged the sizes over a period of time....I just read an article in Oprah re: that....but who cares?? It still counts in today's world. I know back in the 70s I lost down to 162 lbs. and THEN I was wearing 16s as well. They' truly beefed up our sizing patterns to make America not feel as bad about being big folk! I'm not sure that's a good thing. It sorta enables us as a country to continue to get fatter, ya know?
