Looking for GA doc recommendations...

Pls let me know what doc you used in Georgia, if you were pleased and if you liked the hospital they use. Thanks!

I used Dr. Paul Macik. He did my Gallbladder surgery 6 years ago and then he did my WLS. He is a wonderful surgeon and a very caring person. He operates out of several hospitals. The ones I know of are Northside, North Fulton and Dunwoody Emory but he may use others as well. His office staff is also very helpful in getting you approved with your insurance company.

Ann, I used Dr. Scott Steinberg in Decatur, GA. and went to Decatur Hospital. Both drs office and hospital staff was awesome. He is an awesome dr. He listened to all my questions and my husbands questions, answered them thoroughly. He didn't talk to me like I was a little kid. If I didn't understand something, he made so I could understand it. Very nice bedside manners. I HIGHLY recommend him. See you on the happy and healthy side. lea lewis

I am having my surgery with Dr. Champion in Atlanta on June 21st...will let you know what I think in a few weeks! LOL!

I used doctor Titus Duncan's group (hobson did my surgery) and was very pleased with everything EXCEPT aftercare.....which is so very important. Seems the office forgets to call back in a timely manner about problems you might experience. I think Dr. D was the best for surgery itself, but as far as aftercare--i'm no so sure anymore.

I used Dr. Christopher Hart in Suwanee. His staff goes above and beyond in getting you approved and after care. I know he uses Emory Dunwoody and I think he will use Northside Hospital sometimes.

Please call Dr. Dennis C. Smith, Jr. in Marietta, GA. You will not be sorry. 770-919-7050 He is a great surgeon and does the RNY, LAP, and the BPD/DS. His practice is also a Bariatric Center of Excellence.

I had Dr.Titus Duncan and he did do my surgery and came to see me the following day. I was happy with how his office assisted me with the insurance and now follow up care. He has a network of other doctors in his office when you go for follow up care,Dr Feilds and Dr.Spaights I really like them both and do not worry if it is not Dr.Duncan I see for follow up. His office also did NOT charge any extra fee only the insurance. I had no complication and when I did call one night about the drainage tube when I first got out of hospital, I got a call back from another doctor on call within 15 mins of my call. I used Dr. John Ryland Scott in Rome Georgia. He is a great surgeon and really nice guy. I have been really pleased with the care I have gotten from him and his office staff. I love his nutritionist, Mary Beth she is awesome. I email her with questions and she always responds right away. The hospital I was in was Floyd Medical center and they had really nice rooms it was like a really nice hotel, flat screen tvs and living room area in your room for visitors. I use Dr. Maynard. I have found his group to be freindly and very helpful. He is straightforward when answering questions. They are using a new hospital now, and I can not remember the name of it (isn't that terrible must be my age showing).
