I am now three weeks out and what food I can eat seems to be getting "stuck". I have had to throw up several times and it is really getting OLD! Another concern that I have is I seem to be constantly dehydrated. I am drinking at least 48oz of "fluid" everyday and I am really pushing it for that to go down. What am I doing wrong? I am really beginning to regret my having the surgery. Any help would be most appreciated. Charlene

While it is getting old, 3 weeks isn't very long yet.... Just keep trying your best to get your fluids in anyway you can. It seems rough now, but a few months down the road, you'll be so much better, and things will seem so much easier, and you'll be thankful for the surgery. Just keep following your surgeons directions, and remember chew, chew, chew... I had a hard time with that, and had to deal with the 'foods getting stuck' thing too, but it finally resolved itself. For me, and with my surgeons approval, I had to have small sips with my meals, because I kept feeling like things were getting stuck in my throat. I had to have a little bit to drink to wa**** down my throat, but so much as to wa**** thru my pouch too soon. My surgeon said that some people just have to have a little to drink, but he says he has to indiviualize for each patient. He prefers no liquids for a half hour before or after meals, but gave me the ok... Hang in there!!! Hugs, Susan
