Thigh Update!

Ok-here's the report from the plastic surgeon's visit. Luckily the "open" part of my incisions are clean and doing well. She has me packing them with saline drenched gauze. That should help them heal faster-but I don't think the Peachtree Road Race is feasible this year. I'm selling my number. Here's the not so good part. My right inner thigh is both pink and purple. I guess she said that it's b/c the blood flow to the inner thigh is compromised. In a few months normal color should come back. At least I don't have the flesh-eating disease or necrosis. She said, "Sherry, can I stick a Needle in there?" Sherry said, "No way, Dr. A!" Round 1: Sherry 1 Dr A-0 Round 2 is on Friday. If my leg doesn't get better, she's taking the HUGE needle to drain my leg. I'm TERRIFIED. It hurts to gently touch the leg. She said if round 2 doesn't show improvement we're going back into the operating room. Sherry wants to skip round 2 b/c she'll be AWAKE. Round 3-who knows why-is more appealing-probably b/c I'll be ASLEEP. Oh well-looks like I'll be crying and screaming and being a baby at 10:30 at Northside Hospital in the ATL. on Friday

Wishing you would not have to go through all that. I agree that I would rather be asleep when they do it than awake. Hang in there and hope it all goes well.

Sherry, If my vote counts...I vote to skip Round 2, and go straight to Round 3...LOL I agree with you about the pain...cant stand it...dont want it!! If she does do Round 2, and there is no improvement...did she say when Round 3 would be...keep us posted!!! We definitely want you to be healthy and back to your normal self. Best of luck with hopefully it will improve on its own, and there wont be any need to do Round 2 or 3!!! Take care. Norma

Oooohhhhhh Sherry.... I'm so sorry you are having to go thru this... I work in a wound center, and have seen some of what you are going thru.... Yikes.... A thigh lift and a tummy tuck are the only things I am wanting, and I know the thigh lift is considered about the worse (along with the bat wings). I guess if I wait until I win the lottery to have both done, it will be a long time off for me... lots of years to talk myself into it, lol.... My advice.... beg for general anesthesia.... I would... Hugs, Susan

I had the arms done when I had my boobs, tummy and eyes done. The batwings were EASY compared to this!

Maureen-lol, don't let my complications have you reconsider a TL. It's not uncommon to split open with this procedure, but all said and reconsidered, I'd do it all over again! I'm glutton for punishment-what can I say You'll be fine.

Thanks Sherri It is "bought and paid for" already, so I have to go through it. How long till you are back to work? I am taking two weeks vacation and am really worried that it will not be enough. You did the BL and Aug too right? I am getting that at the same time. ANy issues on that? Any suggestions for things I will need post op? How is going to the bathroom? Do you need a raised seat? I have SOOOO many questions Thanks for sharing
