Hi - I am 4 years post op and my PCP hasn't got a clue about WLS. :-@ He has been letting me slowly get sick. I found out today when I went to have my Tummy Tuck surgery that I was not a candidate based on my iron count, B12 count. I carry the trait of Sickle Cell and because I am anemic - I already have low blood and some of the blood cells I have are S shaped, which means ultimately I need medical attention ASAP. I called my PCP to share with him what the PS told me about my condition and how he feels I might have a blood disorder that is going untreated, he just sat on the phone silent, and asked me to come in for a visit. ANOTHER visit????? FOR WHAT! Was he serious? I have been there countless times and he lets me leave thinking everything is just fine! He never called to give me my results nor did the nurse so after paying on surgery for 2 years - I walked away today with my sagging stomach and several new ailments. I am really concerned about my heath, and I am pissed that my PCP was not. IF anyone knows of a WLS PCP in Atlanta, please email me back! My iron count was 23L and it should be between 35-175L. As you can see I need to get an iron infusion immediately, and on some meds to increase my blood cells. Thanks, TK

My PCP is in Old National. His name is Dr. James Gleason. (E-mail me personally and I'll give you his phone number - e-mail link is in my profile.) Dee Dee
