to have lost so much weight (-82 lbs.) and your hips/lower back hurt? I had this problem before surgery due to a mild case of cerebral palsy I have, but it hasn't hurt me since surgery til about a week ago. I figured it was the shift in weight of the 82 lbs that is making it hurt again, is that possible? Melissa 241.5/159/??

First off your pict looks great! Second, yeah since i lost my weight my hips ache sometimes - I just chalked it up to getting older. And I have a cruddy lower back anyway so that usually bugs me anyway. Kia

Thanks Kara, I was hoping the hip pain would go away forever, I didn't know it would come back, but on another board they said that our center of gravity has changed with the loss and that's what it's due to, who knows. I do know that with me having mild CP that it won't go away til I have a TT, maybe I can get the insurance to cover it since it's medical. Melissa 241.5/159/??

Melissa, I am going thru the same thing. I have lost 95lbs and i hurt daily in my hips and back. I also have a lot of sciatic pain so have to take that into account but i do hurt in the hips alot. And that is where i have lost alot of weight. My dr said it was my body shifting since i had lost all the weight. And should settle down in time. Will see. By the way girl you look AWESOME!!!

Hi Melissa, I saw your post and wanted to reply. I'm sorry you're experiencing back and hip pain!! That stinks! I've read that it happens sometimes as we lose huge amounts of weight--our bones and spine will have to adjust and shift. Makes sense to me but I don't look forward to it. Anyway, let me know if you think we're having a meeting a bodyworks this month. I hope so! I can't believe I'm 2 weeks out today. I had a hard first 10 days (Lots of pain, anxiety, etc) but now I'm feeling MUCH better! I have my re-check with Dr. Daly this Thursday. Hope to hear from you, Paige RNY/May 22

WOW I didn't realize you had already had your surgery, how do you feel all together, and how much have you lost so far? I guess we will have a meeting at bodyworks this month, but unfortunately I won't be there because we will be on vacation that week, I e-mailed Rhonda C and ask her so as soon as she lets me know I'll forward the mail to you.
