Ins. Help!!!

I qualify for the surgery however BCBS said that my ins. does not cover it because it is not on the contract. I did call the ins. broker and he did say must ins. do not pay for that anymore and it will cust too much for an individual to pay for just to ad that to the comp. ins. I see must of you all have ins. and all what am I doing wrong????? What other ways can I get the ins. to cover it??? Any help will do!!!! Thanks

In many plans that BCBS covers, they stopped covering WLS July of last summer. Some folks are still covered with them if their company bought an exclusion to the policy to cover it. Others switched to another insurance company, switched jobs or self paid (even flying out f the states to have it done in some cases). My husband is military and they (Tricare) still pay for it. If you are stuck with BCBS and have no other options, you might look into hiring an obesity lawyer to see if they can fight for you. Best of luck to you! Kia
