Interesting Article :)
From The Curves Magazine Spring 2006
"Another reason to sprinkle a little olive oil on your pasta or salad; Gary Beauchamp, PhD, and Paul Breslin, PhD, scientist at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia, recently found that olive oil contains a chemical called oleocanthal that has inflammation fighting properties similar to that of the pain reliever ibuprofen.
This isnt to say a bowl of pasta with pesto is a magic cure for all your aches and pains. But this anti-inflammatory effect is another way that olive ouil may help protect you from heart disease (inflammation has been strongly linked with heart attack and strokes). So choose olive oil over butter or margarine." Rick Chillot
I always thought Olive oil was the best to use, but if it has the chemical that is similar to ibuprofren, is it safe for gastic by pass patients???? Just a thought.....
