Good Morning Guys! I need some questions answered and a little I had a horrible experience with the dietician. I knew more about the procedure and the after care and the stages for food than she did. My question is do you regret having the surgery and what type of complications have you had also how long has it been since your surgery? Thanks

Sorry about the experience with dietician but it does happen at times. I had my suregry 2 years and 2 months ago. Read my story I had lots of complications but before you read it I would do it all over again

Good morning! I had my surgery February 10th in 2005 (as you can see from my info). I have lost about 130 lbs. My only regret was not doing this 10 years ago! My surgery itself was a complication due to adhesions, but since waking up I have had no major complications at all - I don't even dump. You can also read my profile by clicking on my name if you want - I have tons of information about what happened on my surgery day and lots of pictures as well. Good luck to you Kia

I had my surgery a year ago on May 23- I have had some rough times- and some are still going on (hernia?) but.....I would do it again in a split second---I've gone from 278 lbs size 24-26 to 134 lbs size 6-7. Never did I ever expect life to be so good! My info is on profile, too---you can read some of the hard times I had--but it was ALL worth it! Lisa

Hi Sue, I would do it over and over and over again. I never regret the surgery.... I have been very fortunate, and had very minor side effects. The biggest (and most common) is that I had to have my gall bladder out...that was probably in the works prior to surgery though. However, that's the worst of it...There is the occasional nauseousness, but it's rare, and you DO have to watch your vitamins. Sometimes I notice my muscles cramp, and that usually means I would have to step up the magnesium. Sue, this surgery gave me my life back. I am almost 2yrs out. I do NOW struggle with the ability to overeat again. NOTHING like what I was able to do before, but it's do-able. I'm sorry you got stuck with a less than knowledgeable dietician...don't let that distract, there are many others that you can see that are well versed in our surgery. Good luck to you in your decision, whatever it may be. Tami
