Topic: RE: Can a failed RNY be changed to a fobi pouch revision?
Hi, I hope this info is not too late, but I had a failed RNY as well.  My original RNY was preformed in 2001 and I had a revision to the Fobi pouch in 2004 with great success.  My only suggestion to you is to find a doc that performs this procedure on a regular basis and has a lot of experience with revisions.   Regina

Topic: RE: Medical Alert Card
I haven't had the surgery yet, but just wanted to comment that a senior citizen's portion or half portion is better than a child's menu.  Children's menus are often chicken fingers, hot dogs and things like that.  I have a friend who had the surgery and gets senior citizen (half) portions with the card.

I know what you're talking about... the long trip.  When I had mine done, I traveled from Yuma, Arizona to Hawaiian Gardens and back.  Once I finished all of the required tests, I got my date within like a week or so.  However, I believe getting your date will depend on your insurance company, and how fast they get everything together. Good luck!

Hi, I've done a plethera of research, but I haven't heard of the revision you are speaking of before.  I do know a handful of people who have had a revision from the RNY to the DS...you can come ask them about their stories on the duodenal switch forum.  This link should get you there. http://obesityhelp.com/forums/DS/a,messageboard/board_id,535 7/They have such wonderful stories about their revisions.  One person I can think of right off hand that is on this site is Starry1st.  She had the revision done and has pretty extensive info on her profile.  This link should get you to her. http://obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/profile.php?N=H 1069043043 Please feel free to ask me any questions.  I'm still pre-op but have learned a lot of things along my long path of research for my own near future surgery.  Once insurance is approved, I will also be having the duodenalswitch.   Best of luck to you....
