Topic: RE: Wishing I didnt ever have the surgery?
I had VBG almost 6 years ago and I almost died. I had respiratory failure during surgery and ended up in a coma on life support. I was in ICU for months and then rehab for more, learning how to feed myself, walk and function again. I cannot believe I am looking at these websites even considering WLS again! Thank you for reminding what a nightmare it was and how risky these surgeries really are!

Topic: RE: Dr. Jossart - bariatric surgery program
This is not very personal service. I would probably look around for another Doctor as well. It sounds like an assembly line where the patient means very little, just show me the money! You are getting some insight to how you will probably be treated regarding any other special needs you may have from this Doctor and staff. Be warned.....
Topic: Bipass or lap band
Can you share your experience with either one so I know which one to choose. Thank you for all your help
Topic: Has anyone had good experience after surgery
I read all these stories about bad experiences. Does anyone have good ones? I am scared out of my mind!!! Sitting on the fence about all of this. Dr. told me I will have diabeties in two yrs if I dont do something about the weight now. Fat all my life.... but still very very scared! Going on 8/25 hope I don't back out.
Topic: RE: Wishing I didnt ever have the surgery?
wow you have just made me even more scared. Thank you for the truth. I am so on the fence about this. I am upset all the time about my weight. Everyday EVERYDAY I think about trying to loose weight. I have not been able to. 15lbs -25lbs then right back to the same old thing. I am scared about never eating again the way I do. I like to eat. If I do it then God knows I can handle it. I hope. Let you know how it goes...
Topic: RE: made a decision to have one of the weight loss surgery ( am so scared)
WOW Gigi, you just sounded like me. I am doing the surgery on 8/25 I am sooooo scared of something going wrong. I have been on the computor for days reading all the diffrent stories. I am praying God and my guardian angel will be with me. I was undecided about which sugery but so many people have had somethings happen with each one, BUT they have not regreted any of this. So wish me luck and good luck to you. Oh I am using Dr. Vohra in Hewlett, NY he has been great so far. I'll let you know after the operation.
