HI!
I hope you get some more answers. If you are not happy go on to the next doctor.
perhaps go to a Bariatric specialist..that's familiar with the surgery.?
Just to prescribe medicines is not the answer.
I went through many tests and a few doctors.
I am sorry you have had  such problems.
Hoping that you feel better soon.
My daughter has Crohns disease and I know Ulcerative Colitis is not too much different.
This is a chronic condition.
Be well.
Oh and my surgery is now scheduled for 10-12. Yikes :)
let me know what happens!

I had the Fobi pouch and it has also been 10 years since I had the surgery.  My stomach pain is getting worse by the day.  I've had an endosopy, colonoscopy and an upper and lower gi.  I've been told I have an ulcerative colitis, a corrosive esophateus and now esophagael spasms.  I'm going to a gi doctor or should say i've been seeing their nurse practitioner.  I'm so tired of them not helping me, esophagael spasms does not cause belly pain, they just keep prescribing meds.  I hope you did well with your surgery and if you've not had it yet, I do wish you well.  I hope to hear from you again.

Topic: Singles WLS convention
Hi all

Would anyone be interested in attending a singles WLS weekend event or convention? The locations could maybe fluctuate between north, south, east and west coast each year. I would love to attend something like this with other singles but we would need enough interest before it could be planned. Not sure the exact events that would be involved until we know the around what the head count would be, but I'm thinking support groups, a singles dance, speakers, business expo maybe, etc. Please let me know. Thanks!

I've been having awful stomach pain and it just keeps getting worse.  My GI just thinks it's acid reflux, but I know better.  The pain is getting worse by the day.  Is anyone else having these same problems.

Hi Judy,
The two week diet I was on prior to surgery was a purely liquid diet.  I bought skim milk and protein powder and committed to it...and I lost 13 pounds in the first 11 days.  It was a real challenge because I still got hungry pre-op...which you won't have to worry about post-op.  I tried heating my chocolate shake (like hot chocolate) and don't recommend it!...it was not good.  However, I did freeze some of the chocolate shakes (not completely frozen) and ate them with a spoon.  I also had chicken broth to help with the salty cravings and the need for something hot.
A word to the wise --- buy a small container of lemon juice and add a few drops to each bottle of water...this will help flush impurities from your liver...and will help you to SHRINK your liver...which I'm sure your surgeon has told you is very important.
I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.  If you have any questions, let me know...I'll answer anything you want to ask.
