I am going to be having WLS on March 17, 2005. My surgeon has started doing the Fobi Pouch GB and has recommended it to me. I need to make a decision by this Tuesday. I fully trust my surgeon but I'm unsure if I want a foreign object in my body. Please advise of your experiences. I have A LOT of weight to lose (about 180 pounds). I want to do everything I can but I'm still nervous. Thanks for your help! Patricia

Hi patricia, Are you having the RNY? I don't know what a fobi pouch is because I havn't even went in to speak with a surgeon yet about any and all the procedures that are available. So if you can jst briefly tell me what a fobi pouch is and what is has to do with the rny? I noticed you mentioned a foreign object in your body is that lapband associated? L

I am having the RNY done, the fobi pou*****ludes a silastic ring around the pouch created during the RNY procedure. This helps to prevent the pouch expanding too much months and years after surgery. It makes you feel full longer and helps you retain your weight loss.
