fobi addition

Oh I am not sure about that that is a different procedure, it is a band over bypass.  This is when a band (as in the lap band) is added in addition to your original RNY.  Look at the following site:

http://www.gastric-bypass-guru.com/fobi-pouch.html

I don't want to make you think I have all the answers because I definitely don't; but I think you should also post this question on the Roux en Y forum as well because most fobi post ops post there due to the fact that the surgeries are basically the same if you minus the silastic ring that is added with the fobi.  I am sure you will get a lot more responses there.

I hope you don't mind me asking what mechanical issues?

my stoma had stretched and my food intake was not being processed properly.  There was some other small issues but my insurance company was ok with the stretched stoma and consistent weight gain even with diet and exercise

Hi there,
I am also having a fobi ring after a RNY surgery (Jan 07),  my pouch has stretched and I have regained about 30ils.  My surgery is scheduled for 13 October,  I just wondered if you can tell me a little about your recovery was it like the original surgery?  & what has your weight loss been like?  I am worried that it wont work.

Regards,
Polly

Hi Polly

my name is joan and i live in the uk....i am having a consultation on saturday 1st may

i think the consultant MAY  prefer to do the ordinary RNY op as the fobi op takes a lot
longer (so i have read)...so how long after your RNY did you begin to gain weight?
and can you bring me up to date as to how you are doing now?

I would love to hear from you....

joan
