Do you have United Healthcare Medicaid? If so Im not sure if they do or not. Could you change it to medipass? I have Florida medipass and got my approval within 3 days! They say straight medicaid is the easiest to get an approval.

I am near Ocala and am having my RNY on Jan 3rd at Munroe Regional. Dr Hodinott is my surgeon. I did find a link with some info on your doctor. http://www.ocala.com/article/20120514/ARTICLES/120519862 He has taken over for Dr Jawad as of May 2012. Good luck!

Topic: Dr.Ramos

Hey guys, I need help. I have selected Dr. Ramos for my surgeon however I haven't been able to locate very many reviews on him. He seemed nice at my consult but I wanna know more. I'm a little apprehensive also because he's a D.O. instead of a M.D. Does that even matter? I Have scheduled all my pre-op test for next Friday. I have 2 more nutritionist visits to do then my chart will be sent to Medicaid Share of Cost for approval. I'm so nervous. Any insight would be appreciated.

I am so depressed, I really want to get this surgery. I have wanted it for years but I could never get approved for financing. I have United Health care now and I just don't know if it is worth trying since they say that the surgery is an exclusion. Any advice? Man I am bummed

Topic: Self Pay for RNY

Hi - wondering if anyone can provide me with some information. I had RNY in Canada where we live 5 yrs ago - very happy since. My husband is thinking about having it done - we would self pay as the wait times are extreme here in Canada. We are looking into Dr. Joya in Mexico - but the other option would be a surgeon in the Orlando area - as my parents live there 6 months of the year and it would would be convenient as far as travel etc goes. Can anyone provide me with names of surgeons who do RNY on a self pay basis - and as well - does anyone know of the ballpark figure for this surgery as a self pay? Thanks so much!

Went to the support group meeting yesterday in Ocoee, it was wonderful to see so many people at it...plus the Doctor's who preform the surgery and the nutritionist......wow,how dedicated they are....I drove from Ocala area and it was worth every mile. Thank you guys for welcoming in your group....look forward to the meeting in Dec.

Hello everyone! I am looking into having the gastric bypass done but I am having a difficult time finding a surgeon that will take the Medicaid Share of Cost in my area. I have been calling the Medicaid Help Line for days now and I can't get through to anyone. I really don't want to travel to Miami or Tampa, so I am looking in the Central Florida Area. Preferably Orlando. Is there anyone that can assist me with where to get started? Thank you so much!
