Thanks for your input.. Do they require I see a nutritionist and psychologist too? I keep reading so many different requirements..
Congrats on your decision to have WLS. You don't need a specific kind of PCP, just one that you are comfortable with. Florida Medicaid/Medipass only require a 6mths weigh-ins with a physician. You won't need a referral or anything from your PCP just 6mths of weigh-ins. Unless you where looking for a WLS friendly PCP for your own reasons. Florida Medicaid/Medipass are one of the easiest to get an approval from.
Good Luck on your journey
Turns out I have Medicaid/Medipass.. I was told Dr. Murr accepts this insurance and am planning on attending the Seminar on the 28th. I still haven't found a PCP that is WLS friendly.. Help?? Anyone??
The nutritionist will probably count for your dietician class but not for your weigh ins w/the pcp.
I was submitted to medicaid on Wed, Aug 22, I was approved by Monday, Aug 27 & I had my surgery Weds, Aug 29. So there was 7 days between when I was submitted & when I had my surgery.
My surgeon squeezed me in before the end of the month so we wouldn't have to start over w/the share of cost the next month.
Yes Ma'am. I did on Aug 29th, 2012.
I had to have 6 weigh ins in the last 12 mths w/my PCP, a psych eval, EGD and nutrition class. (BMI 40+ or 2 co morbids)
Are you having the surgery in MRMC or Ocala Regional ??? Never heard of that Dr' but not saying he is good... I have a friend that has Medicaid and she was asking about the half pay ...
Thanks
