::: Waves to Florida ::: In one week on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7:00 PM the Flagler Hospital Bariatric Orlando / Lake Mary Support group will be meeting at the Lake Mary Events Center. I am DeAne Matthew, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as 23 month postop RNY and will be presenting on the topic of Body Image and exploring how our perception of ourselves and life satisfaction can shift throughout the process of bariatric surgery. We also will be discussing how physical changes can affect our relationship with family members, social circles and romantic partners in both past and new relationships. I had an initially meeting with Dr. Kim's office a couple years ago but decided on Dr. Jawad and had my surgery done at ORMC in May 2011 (positive experience!). If you are looking for any extra support, I actually facilitate the Flagler Hospital Bariatric (Dr. Marema) Orlando / Lake Mary Support group that meets meeting at the Lake Mary Events Center the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM. This month (5/7/13), I will be presenting on the topic of Body Image and exploring how our perception of ourselves and life satisfaction can shift throughout the process of bariatric surgery. We also will be discussing how physical changes can affect our relationship with family members, social circles and romantic partners in both past and new relationships. Hello All
I am sorta new to the Orlando weight loss community. I had my surgery in Gainesville at Shands, but need an orlando doctor. Does anyone have a good doctor that I can go to? I feel like I am getting lazy with the band and need to get back on track and the first step is to go see a doctor and get a fill.

I would appreciate finding a support group with fellow DDS patients who have been successful, and recommendations for a bariatric physician to get labs done (once I have a job with insurance). Even a family practitioner or internist who "gets" DDS would be helpful. Do most people buy vitamins at Costco here, or ? Thanks!
Dr Bernard Shuster!! He is the BEST! He did my full body lift and breasts! I would not go to anyone but him . Look at his reviews :) Good luck on your journey!
Really? Did you fill out the forms they gave you? I got an email the very next day.
I went to the seminar at Celebration Health, but could not get anyone to respond to me. So, I contacted Dr. Marema who has an office in Orlando, but does surgery at Flager Hospital in St. Augustine. He is amazing, as well as his staff. I am having my surgery this coming Wednesday.

i am in the rockledge area.....i am 2 years post now..i am now attending massage thearpy school at night so i go m-th nights 5-10....i have bit off a big chunk right now. i cant not squeeze in another thing...
there are a coupe of us here in brevard county..i get together with one pretty regularly....she is close to eau gallie.....we mainly text and chat online....she has been coming to get massages thru my school so that has been nice for both of us..i have to give 325 massages in order to graduate from school...i will pass this info onto her....
keep me in mind.. for later one when i am done with school.....good luck with your journey,keep in touch

Just saw your post. i also live in Brevard-Melbourne. I am having my lap band removed this month, then hopefully the sleeve. I see Dr. Allison at Viera Hospital. He is a GREAT doctor. (A Melbourne doc did the lap band-who I no longer see or associate with) Anyway, Dr Allison's office has a great and informative support meetings at the Viera Pro Health on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 and one at the Palm Bay Hospital _See the New Fit site or fb or times and dates-..The leader, Michele, WELCOMES All people-POST AND PREOP PTS.
iF YOU DON'T ATTEND THESE MEETINGS, PLEASE COME I do recommend you arrive early as parking and seating in the room can be challening.
Alot of pts and spouses attend the meeting. Where in Brevard are you?
