Topic: RE: 2 years out now major complications
Dr Marema with US Bariatric in St. Augustine has by far the longest long standing reputation among bypass surgeons as he was the original South Florida Bariatric Surgeon. He did my RNY surgery in 02. Now with a gastric fistula, I'm facing a repair also and will make the sacrifice to ensure Dr. Marema is the only onethat operates on me. I do have a question regarding the risks, likelihood of further complications? I cant seem to even eat soup because the pain is so horrendous that i can't imagine how folks gain so much weight back before they even know there's a prob. ((scared in south florida))

I imagine I'll find out on pre-op day. That the Wednesday before surgery. He does surgery on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Sounds like a plan. I feel you will do well.
Anything special the day before surgery?

I go for pre-op labs on Monday, then liquid diet starts on the 11th. I already drink breakfast and lunch, so it shouldn't be TOO bad. I'm just going to have to get used to not having nuts as a snack. It's all liquid except for a cup of raw vegetables in the afternoon.
I imagine it won't be too bad once I start. I'll have a week of liquid diet, pre-op day, another week of liquid diet, then The Day. That ought to keep my mind away from food. I hope.

I am still waiting to meet the nurse on 6/12.
Topic: RE: Dr. William Todd Overcash-anyone really know the facts?
What did you find? I'm very curious because my Mom had surgery done by him. Please let me know.
Thanks,
Karen
