Hi there. I know this is an older post but i have stay well insurance and i just finished my surpervised diet. I was required to do a 6 month supervised diet with my pcp. I wasnt required to see a nutrtionist for those but i do have to take a nutrition class by my surgeons request. Hope this helps!
First and foremost don't think too much about losing weight. If you over think it, it won't happen. Focus exercise. Did your doctor mention a liquid diet for you yet? If not consider asking about it. I had my surgery in NJ and I am 5 years post op now living in FL.
Good luck.
Sorry for the typos. Check spell mania!
I do not recommend Tampa General hospitals plastic surgery department as I am one week post op for a panniculectomy and am very disappointed with my results. Staff there is very arrogant and the best thing I could have done is read their reviews online because the negative review**** the nail on the head and the positive ones must be fictional characters putting them on there to counteract the negative ones. I had Medicare pay for my procedure now I'm going to have to save for a revision bc it's botched and needs to be completely revised. Good luck. Big you look on here find a surgeon from this website even if it means traveling. They have to meet specific credentials to be allowed on this site. You will be thankful you did. Make sure you read reviews too.
Hi! Hope you are doing well post-surgery. I was scheduled for 9/16 but put it off until 10/7 to work some issues out Dr. Chebli is great so is his staff!
Peace, Cat
Dr. Chris Ramsaran in Hollywood. I saw him for my pre-op clearances for my revision from lap-band to RNY.
Lap-Band 2007
Lap-Band Replaced 2011
APPROVED for revision to RNY! Awaiting surgery date!
Dr. Chebli is my surgeon as well! I am scheduled for August 26th. Just 10 days away! I am having mine done at Venice Regional. I really like the fact that he is so thorough. How did your initial consultation go?
Hi all! I'm new to the forum and am looking for help as to WLS.I am located in Fort Myers, Florida and am attempting to research as much as I can about WLS prior to continuing to fully committing to WLS. I have a few questions and would appreciate all the help. If these questions have been asked in a previous post, I apologize for the duplicate posts.
- I have found that there are two doctors in Fort Myers, Florida who perform the Vertical Sleeve Gastrostomy and I was wondering if anyone can provide me with information as to your experience with them. Those doctors are Dr. Moses Shieh and Dr. Thomas Bass.
- I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and am currently NOT on medication. For those that have had the WLS and have hypothyroidism, has it been difficult to lose weight after the surgery? What has been your experience?
- I was also diagnosed with PCOS and am currently prescribed Metformin to reduce the high levels of testosterone. For those that have had WLS and have PCOS, what has your experience been?
- Pregnancy after WLS, how long did you wait and any complications with the pregnancy due to the WLS?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and respond to the post.
Time to think about getting the ol' lower body lift. I would be interested in hearing about your experience in the Tampa Bay area for those willing to share.
Thanks!!

Hi Michael,
You have done tremendously well! I was happy to read that you had gone to a local surgeon and I am wondering what your experience was with your procedure and the plastic surgeon you chose? I am in the process of starting to look around for a plastic surgeon in the Tampa Bay area.
