Relocating to Tallahassee

Hi all! I'm currently in Minnesota but my husband has a job interview in Tallahassee a week from today. I was wondering if anyone could give me information on support groups in that area in case we end up moving? I'm 7 months post-op RNY. Thanks, Farrah

Sorry I am unable to give you information, since I am in central Florida, but I would like to wish your husband luck on his interview. I am a fellow northerner, born and lived all over Wisconsin, and lived in Upper Michigan..and I don't miss the cold one bit! Tracey

Tallahassee has a great support group that meets twice a month. They are listed as a Yahoo group also here is the website http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/wls_tallahassee/

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital has recently started a Bariatric & Weight Loss Center with nutritionists, nurses and psychologists. My understanding is they sometimes participate in the local support group that Angie mentioned.

Farrah, We have a very active support group in Tallahasse and if you move here I hope you & your hubby will come to our meetings. We meet 2 times a month, once a month on a week night at a restaurant, and once a month on the 4th Saturday in a member's home. Good luck to your hubby in his interview!
