Come out, come out, where ever you are
I'm here...WOW This FL board has been S L O W latley.
So anything new going on w/ ya all??
We got the "wonderful" new that BOTH out our A.C. units need to be replaced, our 2nd story ac unit has been out since March 30th..it's hot up there..so needing to spend over $10,000 on AC units doesnt sound too great
..Just keep thinking..I better have enough $ to do this WLS when the time finally does come...if the "money pit" we call our home doesnt suck us dry 1st. We keep saying we should move..but the price of houses doesnt look that great these days. We bought our house 5 years ago for $118,000, now my house is worth around $250,000...It's crazy

I so know where your coming from with house problems...I have a ton! Our money pit was 318k a couple years ago...we spent 24k on the new AC units, then 2 summers later they said 1 unit was too small for the area and upgraded me to a 5 ton for free. I was a happy camper after that happened.
Now we are in a rental home (due to a sinkhole) and the AC is messed up here. 1 unit is for half of the upstairs (2 bedrooms and a bathroom) and the living room downstairs, it is set at 74 but it don't cool after it heats up outside, and runs constantly. The other unit is for the kitchen, dining room, 2 master bedrooms (1 is upstairs) and the family room. That unit cools fine but the master upstairs isn't cool and the master downstairs is toooo cold for my mom. The management company we deal with isn't listening to us
I want to scream! If I didn't have WLS I would of ate myself to death by now.
I won't even mention the problems with our sinkhole house. We debated taking the pay out of 327k or having it fixed by insurance. We decided on the insurance and glad we did, just found out that our neighbor whos house is smaller but yard is bigger got appraised at 1.2 million. I know we would never get that much ever! But the thought of selling it and moving up north where we can get more for our money is nice.

I am glad my family can keep a sense of humor about this stuff or we would all be in the looney bin.

This is our 2ns money pit...funny our 1st one was a rental in Alt. Spgs. Down Northlake (next to what used to be called Interstate mall, back in the days.LOL) It was what we called "Da Hood" Bad area, but we had an old ac unit, old refrige, old oven & our power bill was $350 to $450 a month for a 2 bedroom apt. We lived there 3 years & told them every month somthing was wrong if our power bill was so high & our neighbors was so much less, but then I kid you not 3 months before we finally moved, they replaced them all & our power bill was $60 for 3 months.. we were so mad at them..but at least we got outta there. I do LOVE shopping at all those stores in Alt.
I know that area, we cut thru there to get to Golds Gym. My house is on Lake Orienta but on the opposite side of the lake off of Maitland Ave. You know I am pretty sure they are making all of the apartments over there condos now. My husband works for a contractor for Brighthouse and said there are only going to be like 2 or 3 apartment complexs left in all of Altamonte.
Changing your AC will do wonders for your power bill...ours was 700-850 per month til we got the 2 new units, now it is 300-450. Our rental is smaller and is running that much already since the AC is running all the time. I told the management company that we will not be able to live here in the summer months if this isn't resolved...I hope that works. I don't think they want to lose the 3400+ insurance pays per month.
I bet saving all that money for those last 3 months was nice.
I loved shopping in Altamonte, but now that I am closer to Lake Mary, I am really enjoying the shopping and convenience of Lake Mary Blvd and Sanford. The JC Penney up in Sanford is so much more organized and cleaner then Altamonte. And that Super Target is really nice too!
