Hi, I am moving in the next couple of days to Lakekand, Fl. I am only 7 days post op and I am really scared about this, although we planned to move in August this year, things are moving faster now, and I will need to find a new MD to go to. I wanted to get info from any other WLS patients in the Lakeland, Fl area, or Polk County area. I would appreciate any info you can give.
Thanks, gg

Thanks so much for the info and the welcome. It's been so crazy for me. I had to stay behind due to my surgery, my dh stayed also, but my daughter went ahead with my mother because FL gets out of school 1 month before RI, so I wanted her to start sooner so she'd meet other kids before the summer. She's only in the 1st grade. My mom is thrilled, and Angiala is too, she was excited, always a great kid. But I feel like my whole world is collapsing.

Hi,
I live right inbetween Lakeland and Orlando. I work in Lakeland at LRMC hospital. It's a great hospital, but no bariatric programs.
My surgeon takes pts that he did not do surgery on. There is a wonderful follow up program and everything is top notch.
He wants and CT films and UGI film brought with you as well as a surgical report. There is fee for the program, but it's well worth it. You also can go to the support group every month, it's run by the surgeon and then the post ops split up and go with the psychologist for their issues.
I love it.
I had surgery in another area, Pensacola FL, about 8hr from Orlando, so when I moved I started going to Dr Kim and Dr Marema.
Good luck,
Mary
