April 8th, FBC Orlando Support Meeting
Just wanted to send out a reminder that the FBC support group is holding a meeting on Saturday, April 8th, from 1-3pm at the Downtown Library - Magnolia/Orange Avenue/Central Avenue area. (407) 797-5153 if you need directions. We will be discussing emotional eating - of which I need to hear - as I am dealing/struggling with bulimia (never thought I be dealing with this) but it's all connected to the emotional roller coaster of emotions we go through in life. Congratulations to you if you feel you don't need a support group or think they are a waste of time - that means you have conquered the fat brain demon. But as I heard recently from many - many are having difficulties with the emotional aspect of their lives and are having a bit of emotional trouble, that is what I feel is the true meaning of needing a support group. Most of us have dealt with nutrition and exercise programs most if not all of our lives..and that doesn't change postoperatively - it's the same thing as before. We need to deal with, I believe, the emotional issues that drove us to obesity and still continues to haunt us postoperatively. By not DEALING with our emotional roller coaster we are open to return to our old habits and former heavy self - and I for one - do not want to return to that.
Additionally, we will finalizing the Glamour shots session we are holding at a member's home who has graciously opened her home with a fireplace backdrop. Preoperatively and postoperative - you're all welcome to join us, however you need to come to the meeting to get the details. In addition to that we will be having Dr. Wm Todd Overcash via phone conference. Dr. Overcash is one of the top 15 surgeons in the US and will be open to questions. Please come prepared with any and all questions. This is OPEN TO ALL!! Hope to see ya there!!
Hugs, Ruthy
