TEEN WLS

Is there anyone out there that knows if united healthcare will cover RNY surgery for me? I'm 16 and will be 17 May 1st. I live in Jacksonville Fl. I have seen Dr. Overcash and he is going to do my surgery. I'm trying to get a heads up on the status of teen WLS surgery w/ united healthcare. Thanks!!!! Sean

You are so lucky most of the people that have united get approved for everything even plastic surgery for after the weightloss. United is a great insurance, this girl got approved for all plastic surgery as well!! So lucky... Good luck to you maria

Sean - call Patrice (352) 368-2828. She should be able to answer this question for you!! Congrats on getting the surgery. I had United Healthcare and didn't pay much out of pocket back in 04. You're also invited to join Dr. Overcash's online support group at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/floridabariatriccenterwlssupportocala/ There you will also find a support group in Jacksonville/Orange Park that meets on Saturdays.
