I feel so pretty today!!
Hi! I don't post here very often, but I wanted to tell everyone about a great resource available to us in South Florida. Our local support group had a guest speaker, Virginia Alexander, a few weeks ago. I know she's done some OH shows, and writes for OH, so you all may already know about her. Anyway, as both a gastric bypass patient, and professional makeup artist, she's got all kinds of information about post-WLS skincare. I know since my surgery almost 2 years ago, I've had different problems with my skin. More though, as my body's gone through these physical changes, I've become more social and have become more interested in my overall appearance. (Aging and seeing wrinkles for the first time is a real kick in the pants, too! 
) Anyway, for me personally, after being obese for so long, I still feel very uncomfortable and self-conscience, not to mention overwhelmed, going to a mall makeup counter, so when Virginia offered free makeovers to our group, I thought it would be a great place to ask my questions and figure out what I needed, in a safe atmosphere. Besides being loads of fun, the session was full of great information and ideas about makeup, skincare, dressing for our new bodies, etc. It was such a positive experience, and Virginia was so helpful. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything, she just shared herself with us because she wants every woman to feel beautiful. I don't have any connection to her, but I just wanted you all to know what a great person and help she was and that she's right here in our backyard to take advantage of!! I have her card if you want her info, or she may already be here on this site. I know she's in the OH magazine. Ok, bye!!
