home from hospital-had pneumonia...

I'm home from the hospital. I had pneumonia and a bad case of it. This past week I've lost 5 lbs and I'm a little bit over a year out from surgery. I was pretty run down to begin with since they keep pushing me to try foods and I still have episodes of throwing up. I work a very stressful job and it makes it difficult with many foods besides the fact that I have damaged stomach nerves from diabetes. I'm trying to build my system back up so I can feel healthy again. I actually had an insensitive boss say that "I was doing better fat than thin". How stupid. Sometimes people's ignorance amazes me. Actually I'm doing so much better and I probably would have had a heart attack to boot if this had happened a year ago. Stephanie

Hey, Steph....sorry you were so sick...but am glad you're doing better. I wanted to write cause I am a former diabetic and was having some stomach episodes..my doc prescribed Reglan and that has helped. Have you heard of this medication and would that help you with your stomach problems...the recent term I've heard is gastropareis...it's when we can't emtpy out or have a delay reaction to emptying out the stomach due to diabetes...so check it out...maybe something to look into although you might have a different situation going on. Im working on moving out of my stressful job as well...and see if my total nerves get better,hahahaha....but just just ignore the ignorant.

Hey. Yeah I've heard of reglan. I've been on it since 1998 for gastroparesis due to diabetes. I take it 3-4 times a day. I used to take cisapride but they took it off the market. Thanks for your thoughts and reply. Stephanie
